Osteopathic Specialisms

We help relieve suffering through classic osteopathic techniques that alleviate conditions including sports injuries, RSI and maternity-related pains, to general neck, hip, shoulder and wrist pains. Alongside these techniques we also specialise in several key areas including:

Frozen shoulders
Frozen Shoulder Syndrome is a painful and debilitating condition which has historically resisted treatment through surgery or injections. The Neil-Asher Technique takes a hands-on-only approach that uses a specific, unique sequence of manipulations to the shoulder joints and soft tissues to reduce pain and increase movement. The same technique can also be modified to treat other, seemingly intractable shoulder conditions.

Cranial osteopathy
Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle manipulative pressure to encourage changes throughout the body, including the head. While widely used in the treatment of infants, it is equally effective for all age ranges.

Rehabilitation pilates and maternity related pain
Specialised forms of pilates have proven exceptionally beneficial in helping recovery from lower back pain, often helping people recover from spinal surgery and pregnancy related back pain, slipped discs and long standing joint pain. Applied rehabilitation pilates focuses on retraining the deep abdominal, pelvic floor and low back muscles which are vital in stabilising the spine.

Medical acupuncture
Medical Acupuncture helps create relief from painful conditions by targeting restrictions within a muscle, stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and helping the body produce pain-relieving endorphins. It can be taken as a treatment in its own right, or used as part of your osteopathy treatment at no extra cost.
